MANILA, Philippines — Nine people, including two children, were injured after a fire broke out in Tondo, Manila yesterday.

The blaze started on the third floor of a house at the corner of C. P. Garcia street and Road 10 in Barangay 123, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The Manila Fire District (MFD) raised second alarm at 2:16 p.m, nine minutes after the blaze broke out.
MFD marshal Senior Supt. Aristotle Bañaga declared the fire under control at 2:59 p.m.
Eleven firetrucks from the BFP and 40 others from volunteer groups responded.
The fire displaced 45 families or 130 people, the BFP said.
The three classrooms are currently shared among 102 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, who are taught by a roster of 14 teachers. "Given the situation, they implement multiple grade levels scheme in the classrooms," DepEd told Philstar.com in a message.
