India registered their second-biggest ODI win (by runs) over England in Ahmedabad in the third ODI to complete the clean sweep of the three-match ODI bilateral series on Wednesday. (Match Blog | More Cricket News)

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team won the match by 142 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad when they bowled out visitors to 214 runs while defending a 357-run target.

England skipper Jos Buttler invited India to bat first after winning the toss with one change in the playing XI. They replaced Jamie Overton with Tom Banton. India made three changes in the final XI when they added Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav in place of Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja and injured Varun Chakravarthy.

The centurion of the last game in Cuttack, Rohit Sharma lost his wicket early but Shubman Gill continued his good form and scored his seventh ODI ton. He also became the fastest to reach 2500 ODI runs and surpassed Hashim Amla by reaching there in his 50th ODI inning.

Virat Kohli (52) and Shreyas Iyer (78) also scored half-centuries in the match. Kohli regained his form just before the ICC Champions Trophy, which is a good sign for the Indian team management.

KL Rahul came to bat at number five and made crucial 40 runs. Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana took India's score past 350 runs.

Arshdeep Singh got rid of the England openers Ben Duckett and Phil Salt to provide the early breakthroughs. Tom Banton and Joe Root added 46 runs for the third wicket but wickets kept falling after that.

Harshit Rana was brought back into the attack in the 25th over and he got rid of Jos Buttler first then Harry Brook. Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya also picked up a couple of wickets. Sundar and Yadav shared one wicket each.

Shubman Gill was named 'Player of the Match' for his century and 'Player of the Series' for his consistent performance throughout the series.

India announced their final squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Tuesday night. Jasprit Bumrah was excluded from the squad due to his back problem. Varun Chakravarthy replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal and Harshit Rana, who was a travelling reserve before, got included in the squad in place of Bumrah.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube and Mohammed Siraj are non-travelling substitutes for the tournament which is starting on 19 February in Pakistan's Karachi. India will play all of their matches in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
